This notice explains how DannyBarford.com collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit the website, join the mailing list, purchase a programme or contact us.

1. Who we are

DannyBarford.com is operated by a UK-based sole trader trading as DannyBarford.com. For UK data-protection purposes, DannyBarford.com is the controller of the personal information described in this notice.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

• identity and contact information, including your name, email address, billing details and information you provide when contacting us;
• order and transaction information, including products purchased, price, date, order status and payment confirmation;
• account information where you create or use a customer account;
• marketing preferences and newsletter subscription records;
• technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser, device, pages viewed, referral source, cookies and similar identifiers; and
• messages, support requests, reviews or other content you choose to provide.

Stripe processes payment-card information. DannyBarford.com does not intend to receive or store your complete card number or security code.

Please do not send medical information or other special-category personal data through general contact forms unless it is genuinely necessary and requested.

3. Why we use your information

We process personal information for the following purposes and lawful bases:

• Contract: to take payment, fulfil orders, supply downloads, manage accounts and provide customer support;
• Legal obligation: to maintain appropriate tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and consumer-law records;
• Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the website, prevent misuse, understand performance, administer the business and respond to enquiries, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and
• Consent: to send optional email marketing and use non-essential cookies where consent is required. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

4. Who we share information with

We may share information only where necessary with:

• Zoho and associated service providers used to host and operate the ecommerce store, manage orders, customer accounts and email functions;
• Stripe, which processes payments under its own privacy terms;
• hosting, IT, analytics, security, communications and professional-service providers acting for us;
• HMRC, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where required by law; and
• a buyer or adviser involved in a proposed sale or restructuring of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.

We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires it, we expect appropriate safeguards to be used, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections. You may contact us for further information.

5. How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to meet tax, accounting, consumer-protection, dispute and fraud-prevention requirements. Order records are normally retained for the period required by applicable legal and accounting obligations. Marketing records are retained until you unsubscribe or they are no longer needed, subject to retaining a minimal suppression record so we respect an opt-out.

6. Marketing and cookies

We send marketing emails only where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Transactional messages about an order are not marketing.

The site may use essential cookies needed for checkout, account security and store operation. Analytics or advertising cookies should be used only in accordance with the site’s cookie controls and applicable consent requirements. Browser settings can also restrict cookies, although this may affect website functionality.

7. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to object to direct marketing at any time.

8. Security, children and complaints

We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

The store is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information for marketing. Anyone under 18 should involve a parent or guardian before purchasing or following a training programme.
